The interlocutors discussed urgent issues of bilateral cooperation in the direction of strengthening energy safety, upgrading and joint management of Ukrainian gas transporting system, as also reforming of energy branch of Ukraine.

The parties paid peculiar attention to the price for the Russian gas for Ukraine and ways to ensure reliable flows of Russian gas to Europe, therefore they emphasized the need to launch tripartite consultations in Ukraine – EU – Russia format.

Specifically, they tackled future joint work in the context of organization of reverse gas supplies to Ukraine, in particular, from the territory of Slovakia, and use of potential of Ukrainian underground gas storages.
