Meeting of Interdepartmental working group on addressing issues of victims during Revolution of Dignity

On December 3, there was a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on addressing issues of social protection and guarantee for citizens who suffered during participation in the mass actions of civil protest (Revolution of Dignity). It was chaired by Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Culture Viacheslav Kyrylenko. The group also included representatives of the Initiative group of victims during the events on the Maidan.

The meeting dealt with the complex issues that were raised by the victims of the Revolution of Dignity at a meeting with government officials in the Club of the Cabinet of Ministers on 21 November.

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Culture Viacheslav Kyrylenko noted that the Government should take all possible measures for the speedy resolution of issues connected with material, medical, social support for victims of the Revolution of Dignity.

The list of participants of the Revolution of Dignity who received injuries of moderate severity has been already formed and approved together with the public. To speed up the process of payments to victims with injuries of medium gravity, this list has been decided to submit for approval by the Government at the next meeting.

The process of formation and approval of lists of participants of the Revolution of Dignity who received minor injuries with the aim of organizing financial aid payments has also been launched.

In addition, the participants of the meeting of the interdepartmental group considered the issue of organizing the process of obtaining the status of a war veteran by those persons who became disabled due to injuries received during the Revolution of Dignity, as well as implementation of programs of social adaptation, rehabilitation and employment for victims of the Revolution of Dignity.

Moreover, it has been raised the issue on establishing all-Ukrainian free "hot line" for complaints of citizens who were injured while participating in the Revolution of Dignity on a basis of the government contact center.
