Today, July 28, the sixth round of negotiations on the conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the State of Israel has winded up. This is the third meeting of the delegations in 2017.

During the round, the parties noted significant progress in finding accord on the draft Agreement, in particular, they discussed and substantially completed discussions on the main provisions: institutional, general and final provisions, customs procedures, rules of origin, dispute settlement, etc.

Besides, the delegations continued the debate on access to commodity markets and determined the extent of tariff reduction for sensitive products, particularly in the agricultural sector.

"Our stance is based on the results of consultations with industrial and business associations. It is crucial to ensure that free trade agreements create new opportunities for Ukrainian exporters. Therefore, it is considered necessary to secure duty-free access for as many agricultural and industrial goods as possible to the Israeli market", said Deputy Minister/ Trade Representative of Ukraine Natalia Mykolska, who heads the Ukrainian negotiating team.

In order to conclude the discussion on access to agricultural and industrial goods markets, the parties planned stages of further work and scheduled next rounds and consultations. The seventh round of talks on the conclusion of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the State of Israel is due to be held in Israel.
