development of industry, to establish new enterprises and to provide an
increase of the average wage up to UAH 10 thousand. Prime Minister
of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
stressed today, February 2, in Kyiv region, in the framework of his trip to an
enterprise of light industry.
When talking to
the employees of one of the enterprises of the branch, the Head of Government
drew attention to the fact that light industry had entered the list of
industries being the engines of economic development. The
task is to develop this potential and open up opportunities for such
enterprises to incorporate new technologies, create new jobs. One
of the steps in this direction is the adoption of the recently submitted
package of 35 economic bills stipulating for the protection of businesses, opening
access to resources, promotion of innovations, etc.
"I would like Ukraine to produce more goods, increase
salaries. I think that the average wage should be about UAH 10,000 this year,"
stressed the Head of Government. "This is the beginning ... It is vital
for us while adopting decisions and laws to create conditions for the
development of entrepreneurship."
The light industry of Ukraine enumerates more than 2.3
thousand enterprises, over 80 thousand employees. Throughout last two years the
industry has built up its capacities. Thus, the growth of capital investments
in the industry amounted to more than 24%, while export growth was 43%. Total
output raised by 6.3% in 2017. The volume of sales made up to UAH 23 billion. Ukraine
exports to 150 countries.
fully supports the resources of light industry enterprises to be invested in deep
modernization, the development of human resource potential and the introduction
of innovations. One of such decisions was the introduction of VAT payment installment
plan for the period of up to 24 months for the import of equipment starting January
2018. The incentive was aired by the Head of Government in June of 2017.
